PLAYFULNESS, CREATIVITY & VERBATIM IN DEVISING ORIGINAL THEATRE
PLAYFULNESS, CREATIVITY & VERBATIM IN DEVISING ORIGINAL THEATRE
Welcome to the FOBISIA Junior Drama Festival 2027, hosted by KING HENRY VIII (KH8) from 17-20 March 2027.
Designed for students aged 11-14 (Years 7-9), this exciting festival invites young performers to explore the theme of Playfulness, Creativity and Verbatim in Devising Original Theatre, through a dynamic week of collaboration, imagination and performance.
Led by the acclaimed UK theatre company The Paper Birds, recognised leaders in devised verbatim theatre, participants will discover innovative approaches to storytelling through movement, multimedia, physical theatre and immersive performance-making. Throughout the festival, students will work with professional theatre-makers to create original pieces inspired by real voices, experiences and ideas.
A festival highlight will be to experience Feel Me, The Paper Birds' interactive theatre production. Inspired by the performance and the company's unique devising methods, students will then create and perform their own original Feel Me-inspired work on Baroness Scotland Theatre stage at KH8, culminating in a memorable celebration of creativity, collaboration and young artistic talent.
